There are some simple steps to installing interior doors, it's easy to do, and you'll be able to do it at your own home. Installing prehung interior doors is easy, and you can do it yourself. You don't just want to go hammering and nailing around the door though, because there is a method to installing a door. Hiring someone to install your door is difficult, between the waiting around for them to show up, and the mess that they leave behind. Doing it yourself is easy, and you can do it simply and easier then you thought was even possible. Getting a door installed is important to any home.

There are some simple steps to installing a prehung door. You need some simple equipment, like hammers, screw driver, and some other equipment depending on your door.

1. Check the rough opening of the door, and shim the trimmers to fit your door.

2. Fit the door into the opening, and adjust the reveal.

3. Anchor the jam, and replace the hinge screw.

4. Attach the split jamb, and mount the latch hardware.

This will help you install your prehung door, but you will want some advice and more detailed instructions before you begin anything. The next type of installation is installing a pocket door if you have the room. These doors are larger then other doors, and sometimes the installation is a little more detailed. Pocket doors were popular, because they didn't need any square footage to swing open into. They close easier then in the past, and they hardly ever come off their tracks. It's a great addition to any home, and installation you can do yourself. The first step is to cut the opening, and here are some step by step instructions on doing so.

1. Cut through the door and nailos to remove the door and the door jamb.

2. Use a wood cutting saw to remove pieces of wallbaord, and remember to not cut too deep.

3. Remove some drywall above the door to allow you to frame a new header.

4. Remove the existing header by slicing and cutting through the nails.

5. Cut a length of 2x4 for the new header, nailing at both ends and screwing it in at the studs.
